FIN RICE ART

Artist Statement: Fin I’ve labored in makeshift darkrooms—bathrooms, closets, borrowed basements—hand-mixing developers to coax black-and-white prints into being. I drank deep from film’s swan song and digital’s explosive debut, yet my practice remains anchored in the tactile alchemy of light and material. My current work is , light-reactive, large-scale canvas paintings—each one-of-a-kind and engineered to engage the viewer anew from every angle. My art is driven by the conviction that each collector deserves a singular encounter. Every piece I create is an original testament to its unfolding moment: unrepeatable, deeply personal, and conceived without digital shortcuts. Collaboration fuels my process. I share creative joy with my talented friends. Since my daughter Mab arrived in 2003, I’ve stenciled “BAM” into every artwork—a quiet tribute to legacy and love. My signature technique fuses my photos with metallic paints and delicate gold /silver/bronze leaf beneath layers of high-gloss varnish on canvas. i print the cavases in house and mount on wooden strecher frames, so size adjustments personalised . The resulting surface shimmers and shifts with light, revealing hidden textures and vibrant pops that reward each fresh viewing. I don’t simply present images; I invite you into a living dialogue of light, memory, and transformation. Explore more at https://finart.myportfolio.com
